Analyze margin by time window, order, SKU, and sales channel.

Date range

Use 7, 30, and 90 day windows to separate short-term noise from structural margin changes.

  1. Use 7 days for incident review.
  2. Use 30 days for weekly operating review.
  3. Use 90 days for pricing, supplier, and product mix decisions.

Core metrics

Gross sales, gross profit before ad spend, gross margin, refunds, discounts, order count, and channel mix are calculated from synced Shopify and cost data.

  1. Treat missing costs as a data quality issue, not a final margin result.
  2. Compare refund and discount movement before changing prices.
  3. Use channel view to detect channel-specific margin pressure.

Order and SKU profitability

Order rows explain transaction-level profit, while SKU rows reveal which products repeatedly create margin pressure.

  1. Open order rows when one alert points to a specific sale.
  2. Open SKU rows when a product looks structurally unprofitable.
  3. Update Costs before making final decisions on low-margin SKUs.
